Why is Reformer Pilates worth the hype?

If you haven’t experienced a session on the Reformer Pilates machine then you might be wondering why people become so addicted to it. Let me try and explain why it’s so versatile, effective and keeps me coming back for more year after year.

Number 1 - You can’t cheat! This machine works under spring tension so if you stop moving or working the machine stops too and often brings you back to the start position with a noisy clunk. This also makes each minute that you workout effective.

Number 2 - Not only can we modify the machine for your body length but we can also use it to make an exercise more challenging or to support you more depending on what you need in that moment. This makes it a really bespoke experience and one that enables you to keep progressing, getting stronger and more flexible.

Number 3 - You really can work parts of your body that are hard to reach, especially during pregnancy such as your back body. Working with or against the spring tension means that you can work your body differently to when you are challenged on a mat against gravity.

Number 4 - It’s versatile. Every day I am inspired by all the new wonderful ways that people use the Reformer machine and for me, as a teacher and as a user, it means that I never get bored. It has so many ways that it can be used.
